Don't expect a seat at Kickass Cupcakes, a no-frills, takeout-only bakery in hip Davis Square, where former Lucques pastry chef Sara Ross uses top-shelf ingredients to craft creative cupcakes ($2.75 each) such as The Mojito (rum-soaked vanilla cake with lime frosting and mint) and the Lucky Cupcake (lemon cake with white chocolate buttercream, candied ginger and a fortune); chase them down with "shooters" such as local dairy milk with vanilla bean; N.B. closed Sunday. 378 Highland Ave.; 617-628-CUPS
